Waikanae weekend
Testing out the things.
We drove up to Waikanae this weekend to check in with the mother in-law and stayed over at the Waikanae Estry. The sound of the ocean is so good for the soul, it totally lets you wind down instantly. I took Isaac and the dog for a few walks to the beach, chatted to a few White Bait fishermen (not catching much) took Isaac for a bike ride up the river.
While I had it parked up I tried out the awning for the first time, its fairly large and sturdy too. I've wired up some festoon lights which I intend to hang around the awning for summer nights although that part I haven't tried as yet (might attract the bugs?).
We've got some new pots/frying pan and other kitchen items so things are starting to feel a little more set up now. Burgers, eggs, cereal were the main meals with cheese and crackers but we did have the fridge jam packed with goodies too.
Isaac finally got to sleep on his bunk for the first time (he slept in the double last time), which he loved. He had no fear of falling down but we did so I fixed up a temporary barrier to stop it happening. He was pretty excited so took him a long time to settle, but once he did he was good until the morning. He's also getting up and down the ladder by himself now which is a bonus.
This was the first time I've emptied the grey water tank, I think it was too full. Its probably due to have the fresh water tanks filled too which means I need to get a hose for the next trip to Woodville.
